TUICO Signs a CBA with TCC Plc.

TUICO’s Deputy General-Secretary Tamim Salehe exchanges the CBA with TCC’s General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Michal Bachan.

The Management of Tanzania Cigarette Public Limited Company (TCC Plc); a tobacco company operating in Tanzania, yesterday, the 26th of August, 2022 signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the Tanzania Union of Industrial and Commercial Workers (TUICO).

The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office (Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disability), Prof. Joyce Lazaro Ndalichako who commended the efforts done by the Management of TCC Plc and TUICO to ensure negotiations bring results. 

Prof. Ndalichako called upon the employers in Tanzania to ensure their workplaces have Collective Bargaining Agreements. This will help to increase work efficiency and good relations, and avoid workplace disputes.

At yesterday’s signing ceremony our team was led by Cde Tamim Salehe; TUICO’s Deputy General-Secretary accompanied by Cde Innocent Alute, Cde Prosper Mrema, Cde Fabian Samkumbi and Cde Magwe Muyaga. 

Tripartite cooperation plays an important role in promoting harmonious labour relations. The TCC’s General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Michal Bachan thanked TUICO, ATE, and the Government for attending and witnessing the signing ceremony of the CBA.

The occasion was also attended by the Association of Tanzania Employers (ATE) led by its Chief Executive Office Suzanne Ndomba-Doran accompanied by Head of Legal Services Advocate Mercy-Grace Seuya.
